When I was schooling, I thought that spending money on comic, manga, anime, etc was a complete waste of money & time. A lot of my friends did that, back then. The funny thing was, somehow or another, I came across the super famous Slam Dunk series (Which I can't remember how and why) and I got addicted to it. My sister got addicted to it too.
Then I got my parents to buy for me the whole series of the anime (Which costed over S$100 for the set then) And I bought the manga collection. My dear friend, Boing, even went to order a color manga limited edition for me as a gift.
Then my sis introduced 'Dear Boys' to me and the manga characters are so well-drawn. So I did the marker illustrations of the 2 key characters as above.
In church, I was tasked to drive a mini event for the youths to participate. So following the Slam Dunk craze, I drew an application form using the Slam Dunk characters, which I thought was quite cute. Haha.... I was just in secondary school then.
